Burton’s water and anemone-inspired collection consists of floral prints and patterns that contrast with lovely shades of pink, red, and black. Consisting of flowy dresses, denim, white t-shirts, and leather, Burton dramatized the collection using water lily embroidery, puffed sleeves, peplum waist designs, and silk.
In her own words, Burton describes the inspiration: “Anemones are the most ephemeral flowers, here made permanent in cloth. The women wearing the anemone dresses almost become like flowers, like their embodiment, their character – but amplified, grounded, radiant and strong”.
With the campaign, Burton and her team captured and manipulated photos of anemones, enlarged them, and transferred the images on the gowns. The prints on the gowns and items represent nature for what it is at its finest, beautiful and chaotic.
Models including Florence Hutchings, Luca Biggs, Kayako Higuchi, Lucia Fairfull, Jennifer Ball, and Mary Maguet pose in elegant portraits.
