The “MSGM Dreamers University” has returned after five years, and this time around, it’s a fictional institution that values creativity, freedom of expression, and the power of ideas and art. The university places a strong emphasis on the importance of happiness as a social, cultural, and artistic responsibility and encourages students to chase their dreams.
The Fall/Winter 2023 collection’s theme is “happiness is the way” and takes inspiration from the gentle rebellion of youth, as depicted in the film ‘’Dead Poets Society’’. The collection showcases mature clothing with clean silhouettes and an array of colors such as optical white, inky black, midnight blue, deep red, baby blue, pink, gray, and brown. The collection includes various campus looks such as V-neck jumpers paired with fleece joggers, coats and coach jackets worn over jackets and cardigans, flannel ties, and Oxford shirts. Stripes, madras checks, and micro-checks are presented in a contemporary style, and tailoring is modernized with trousers in classic fabrics cut with cargo shapes and large pockets. The collection showcases a combination of formality and informality, with premium fabrics and sophisticated prints, glittery knitwear and shoes, and patterns of elegant roses and hunting dogs. There are also references to American sports such as quarterback hoodies worn with underwear and leggings, baseball tops, and color-block clothes in triacetate, sweatshirts, and jackets that resemble competition kit, adorned with the autographs of the MSGM team. A playful mascot is also included in the collection, appearing on down puffa jackets, sweatshirts, jumpers, and jacquard waistcoats with “deconstructed” argyle motifs.
