Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo has joined the ranks of Lancôme as its newest global ambassador.
“Embracing your individuality is so important in beauty since there are many unrealistic expectations placed on young women today,” said the 21-year-old artist in her first statement as an ambassador. “Lancôme is an iconic and timeless brand that promotes beauty from within, and I am honored to be part of their family.”
The young star will spearhead campaigns for the celebrated L’Absolu Rouge lipstick collection throughout 2024, among other signature products. Her debut campaign photo captures her signature aesthetic – precise winged eyeliner paired with bold crimson lips, expertly created by renowned make-up artist Melissa Hernandez using Lancôme’s premium products, including Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation and L’Absolu Rouge Cream Lipstick in shade 132 Caprice de Rouge.
Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme International Brand President, shared her excitement about welcoming Rodrigo: “We’re all captivated by her striking personality and immense talent, and inspired by her commitment to positive change – which we value deeply at Lancôme – pouring her true heart and emotion into everything she does. Few artists of her generation connect with this many people across continents and generations like Olivia.”
This collaboration blends Lancôme’s heritage with Rodrigo’s modern influence. “What we like with her is that she’s a true person,” said Lehmann. “She pushes us into a new chapter, to push boundaries together.”
The partnership extends beyond beauty, reflecting both parties’ commitment to social change.
Through her Fund 4 Good initiative, Rodrigo advocates for reproductive rights and fights against gender-based violence. “She embodies very positive values and is inventing her own path, which makes her the perfect person for Lancôme,” noted Lehmann.
Rodrigo joins fellow contemporary ambassadors Emma Chamberlain and Aya Nakamura, strengthening Lancôme’s connection with younger audiences while maintaining its heritage.
