Canada Goose Artistic director Haider Ackermann has unveiled his first seasonal capsule collection under the brand’s heritage label, Snow Goose by Canada Goose. The global campaign, photographed by Willy Vanderperre, features actor and activist Ethan Hawke and model Julia Nobis, accompanied by a dynamic cast.
For Fall/Winter 2024, Ackermann draws on his personal connection to the power of nature, inspired by the sense of tranquillity and escape that only vast, extreme and magnificent landscapes can offer. He presents a wardrobe designed to defy the elements. “Being surrounded by nature allows you to reconnect with yourself – it reflects, inspires and provokes. It’s in this rhythm and energy that we designed this capsule,” said Haider.
Ackermann delved into the brand’s nearly 70-year archive to preserve the craftsmanship and functionality at the heart of Canada Goose, while exploring new creative territory with fresh, youthful silhouettes and a bold colour palette.
The Rider Parka is an evolution of the 90’s tactical style Peacekeeper Parka. It combines oversized proportions with reflective elements, utility pockets, an adjustable waist and side zips. Made from Arctic Tech, the brand’s heritage fabric, its unique texture adds visual and tactile richness.
The Celestia Jacket is a lighter take on the classic overshirt in reflective nylon, a nod to the reflective tape found on many iconic Canada Goose pieces, a functional feature for high visibility.
Knitwear is introduced with the Cleria Crew: a thick wool rib knit, meticulously brushed for a soft look and feel and a casual aesthetic. The Runic Sweater and Chinook Hybridge add texture with a black and white diamond graphic pattern in an oversized cut.
The organic cotton Orion Tee encourages wearers to “protect the future,” in line with Haider and Canada Goose’s shared commitment to responsible causes. Graphic touches are also found on the Placid Crew and Wilder Hoodie, everyday pieces from the “lifestyle” collection.
Playing with proportions, the Trek Legging has a fitted cut thanks to a compression membrane, while the Volt Turtleneck, an ultra-thin layer that hugs the body, balances the volume found elsewhere in the collection.
To complete the look, the Avalon Hat revisits the 2000s classic with internal insulation and wide, exaggerated ear flaps for extra warmth. It can be worn high or low for year-round style. Beanies, caps and socks complete the accessory collection.
For the campaign, Ethan Hawke leads an eclectic cast of characters from the world of art, sport and design. Through the art of portraiture, the campaign captures the human aspect of the clothing and celebrates the uniqueness of each individual. The visuals are accompanied by animated images, overlaid with their voices, in a series of vignettes exploring how nature influences life, thought, emotion and creativity.
Haider Ackermann was appointed as the brand’s first Artistic director in May 2024. His seasonal collections will be presented twice a year under the “Snow Goose by Canada Goose” label, reviving the heritage label under which the brand operated in the 1990s.
The first shipment of the Snow Goose by Canada Goose Fall/Winter 2024 capsule is available now on canadagoose.com and at select Canada Goose boutiques worldwide. Additional shipments will take place throughout December 2024.
