Zegna’s recent fashion event was a tribute to cashmere, featuring an installation of cashmere flakes swirling in an air chamber and a collection named “The Oasi of Cashmere“.
The show showcased the brand’s focus on innovation in materials and textures, with 70% of the collection made from cashmere and 20% blended with other fabrics.
Artistic director Alessandro Sartori emphasized the importance of style and technicality going hand-in-hand, and the brand’s use of “hybrid technologies” that make it difficult to replicate their designs.
The Fall/Winter 2023 collection featured a standout evolution of soft tailoring, with a focus on layering and tone-on-tone hues, and innovative techniques such as treating cashmere to look like wool bouclé and felt-like jerseys.
Guests were given the opportunity to touch the fabrics and learn about the treatments and research behind the garments. The collection also included Zegna’s trademarked UsetheExisting fabrics crafted from alpaca, cotton-blend corduroy, and wool twill, as well as accessories sprinkled with black pebbles and a new Vetta Triple Stich boot.
Sartori also teased a partnership with Los Angeles-based brand The Elder Statesman, unveiling a beautiful tweed cashmere coat in bacca red. The full collection will be revealed at the end of February during Paris Fashion Week.
