Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025 promises to be a showcase of both international icons and emerging Chinese designers. Taking place from October 9th to 17th, this edition will feature a star-studded line-up including Vivienne Westwood, Moncler and Paul Smith alongside homegrown talent.
The nine-day extravaganza will kick off with Chinese designer and former model Lv Yan’s brand Comme Moi. Vivienne Westwood will close the official runway schedule on October 17th.
One of the most anticipated returns is that of Angel Chen, who has spent the last few years exploring endangered Chinese crafts. Her collaboration with Chinese tea brand Chagee brings her back on October 15th.
The event will showcase a diverse range of Chinese designers, from established names like Shushu/Tong and Mark Gong to exciting newcomers like Joyce Bao and Aqohill, a Taobao fashion label known for its craftsmanship. These presentations will take place in a variety of venues, including the iconic Xintiandi main stage and Labelhood’s Rockbund space.
Off-schedule shows will feature designers such as Samuel Gui Yang, Jacques Wei and Xander Zhou. Meanwhile, international brands are making their mark off the runway. Moncler will unveil its latest Genius project, while Paul Smith will open a new flagship store in the Bund Finance Center. London-based brand KNWLS will also stage a pop-up at concept store ENG in downtown Shanghai on October 11th.
Fashion Week extends beyond clothing, with Harrods continuing its Hives event at Fotografiska Shanghai. Industry professionals can look forward to conferences such as Shaway Yeh’s Shan Future Forum, which will address key issues in sustainability and innovation.
