Swatch has unveiled the vibrant and daring Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean. Following the unprecedented success of the MoonSwatch venture with Omega, this collaboration marks another chapter in Swatch’s series of partnerships with prestigious brands. This time they’ve teamed up with Blancpain to reinterpret the iconic Fifty Fathoms dive watch, and the result is nothing short of extraordinary.
The “Pink Ocean” edition stands out for its bold use of color, enveloping the timepiece in a spectrum of pink hues that are both striking and sophisticated. From the 42.3mm bioceramic case to the bezel, crown and even the caseback, the watch is a celebration of pink in its most exuberant form. The case features a rich, almost magenta hue, while the brighter pink bezel insert is infused with Super-LumiNova to ensure visibility in all lighting conditions.
Inspired by the mesmerizing Ceratodoris rosacea nudibranch, also known as Hopkin’s rose, the “Pink Ocean” pays homage to the vibrant inhabitants of the ocean depths. This marine creature is known for its vibrant pink coloration, and Swatch has masterfully translated this natural beauty into the design of the watch. The back of the timepiece features a digital print of pink water next to an image of the Ceratodoris rosacea, adding a unique touch that aficionados will appreciate.
The dial continues the pink theme with a gradient effect and a textured finish, adding depth and visual interest. Applied hour markers and hands in darker shades of pink provide contrast and readability, while the date window blends seamlessly into the design with a matching pink date disc. The Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean is powered by Swatch’s innovative Sistem51 automatic movement. Known for its 90-hour power reserve and 21,600 vibrations per hour, this mechanical marvel is a testament to Swatch’s commitment to combining accessibility with technical prowess. Visible through the transparent case-back, the movement is adorned with pink-colored decorations, further reinforcing the watch’s thematic consistency.
The watch is complemented by a pink and white NATO strap made from recycled fishing nets, demonstrating Swatch’s commitment to sustainability. The strap not only adds to the overall look, but also emphasizes the oceanic inspiration behind the timepiece. Bioceramic buckles and loops in matching shades of pink complete the ensemble.
