Prada has officially named South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun as its latest brand ambassador, expanding the number of Korean celebrities representing the Italian luxury fashion house. The 36-year-old award-winning actor, known for his exceptional skills in both television dramas and films, joins fellow ambassadors Byeon Woo-seok and Karina of the prominent fourth-generation K-pop group Aespa.
Kim Soo-hyun’s collaboration with Prada further solidifies his influence in both the fashion and entertainment industries. “Prada is pleased to announce Kim Soo-hyun as its latest brand ambassador,” the brand said in a press release. “One of Korea’s most renowned actors with a career across drama series and film, Kim Soo-hyun continues to captivate audiences with his versatility.”
The actor’s rise to fame began with his role in the 2011 drama “Dream High,” but it was his portrayal of Do Min Joon in the 2013 international hit “My Love from the Star” that catapulted him to global stardom. Since then, Kim Soo-hyun has become one of the highest paid actors in the Korean entertainment industry, with notable credits including “Moon Embracing the Sun” (2012), “The Producers” (2015) and “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” (2020).
Kim’s latest performance in the record-breaking 2024 drama “Queen of Tears” further cemented his status as one of the top actors.
Alongside the announcement, Prada released exclusive photos showcasing Kim Soo-hyun’s impeccable style. In the images, he exudes elegance in an all-black ensemble featuring a scoop-neck top emblazoned with the iconic Prada logo.
Kim Soo-hyun’s appointment as a Prada brand ambassador reflects the fashion house’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Korean market and leverage the global influence of K-wave celebrities.
No stranger to representing high-profile brands, Kim Soo-hyun is known as the “King of Product Endorsements“. He has previously served as an ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger, MIDO Asia, Dunkin’ Donuts, and most recently Jo Malone London as its new Asia-Pacific ambassador.
