The May 2025 issue of Vogue US focuses on the Met Gala 2025, often considered the most important night in fashion. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which will be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York from May 10th to October 26th, 2025. Anna Wintour selects four co-chairs – Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky – as this month’s cover stars, each photographed or painted by a black artist.
Pharrell Williams‘ cover stands out thanks to a vibrant portrait by Henry Taylor. Lewis Hamilton sits for Malick Bodian, who uses black and white photography to showcase Hamilton’s sophisticated look in a Ferragamo suit, Off-White bowtie and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Colman Domingo teams up with Iké Udé, wearing a sharp Balmain outfit with a Chanel brooch and Magnanni shoes. Tyler Mitchell captures A$AP Rocky in an Ozwald Boateng suit and tie, a BOSS shirt, De Beers earrings, a Margot McKinney brooch and an Audemars Piguet watch.
For the cover story, stylists IB Kamara and Eric McNeal (for Lewis Hamilton), Max Ortega (for Colman Domingo) and Law Roach (for A$AP Rocky) pull looks from top brands including Fear of God, Todd Snyder, AWGE, Jacquemus, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Emporio Armani, Lanvin and Louis Vuitton.
