The Carhartt WIP x Palace venture marks a notable first. This debut partnership, inspired by manual labor, brings together two giants known for their individual serial collaborations with brands as diverse as Gucci, Sacai, A.W.A.K.E. Mode, and even McDonald’s. However, the two had never joined forces until this momentous occasion.
In a fashion landscape dominated by frequent and often forgettable collaborations, the Carhartt WIP x Palace collection stands out as a thoughtful tribute to manual labor. The collection, set to hit stores on September 15th, includes iconic styles such as the Michigan coat with an oversized logo stitched on the back, double knee pants, and overalls in Hamilton Brown, dollar green camo, and other exclusive colors. The offerings, all in Carhartt’s signature Hamilton brown hue and some in earthy camouflage, feel like a perfect marriage of both companies’ sensibilities.
A parallel event to the collection’s launch is a film written and directed by Stuart Hammond, featuring Palace’s Jonah West and Stan Brock, providing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Palace Carhartt WIP factory. The campaign is an ironic and moving examination of the “real work” required to produce the workwear in which one can perform “real work.”
