Fashion designer Rhuigi Villaseñor has accepted the position of Chief Brand Officer at Como 1907 Football Club, marking a bold transformation for the historic Italian sporting institution. The founder of luxury streetwear label Rhude will bring his sophisticated design perspective to the century-old club, located on the picturesque shores of Lake Como.
The appointment signals Como 1907’s ambitious vision to lead its expansion beyond sport into fashion, lifestyle and consumer goods. Como 1907 is one of the most revered names in Italian football, representing over a century of sporting excellence and community spirit. The club overcame significant challenges in 2017, dropping to Serie D amid financial turmoil. However, its acquisition by Indonesia’s Djarum Group in 2019 sparked a renaissance, culminating in the team’s triumphant ascent to Serie A for the 2024 season.
“I’ve always been drawn to places that have a rich sense of history and style, and Lake Como is exactly that. Since my first visit here in 2016, I’ve found inspiration in its beauty,” Villaseñor said.
The Creative director unveiled his initial concepts at Rhude‘s Spring/Summer 2025 presentation at Villa d’Este, showcasing sophisticated interpretations of sportswear through Lago di Como rugby shirts and branded accessories. “I’m excited to help shape the future of Como 1907 and its wider ventures, blending fashion, football, and lifestyle in a way that feels effortless,” explained Villaseñor.
Villaseñor’s collections for Como 1907 will release next year.
