Suzy Bae, the South Korean singer and actress, has been named Celine‘s newest global ambassador. She is the first ambassador under the tenure of new Creative director Michael Rider.
Suzy’s appointment as global ambassador is a strategic move for Celine as South Korea continues to be an important and vibrant market for the brand. Later this month, Celine plans to open a new flagship store in Cheongdam, an affluent area of Seoul, further strengthening its presence in the country.
Suzy’s rise to fame began in 2009 when she debuted as a member of the K-pop girl band Miss A under JYP Entertainment. Her talent and charisma quickly caught the attention of audiences and she made her television debut in 2011, starring in the hit series “Dream High.” The success of her first feature film, “Architecture 101,” in 2012 further propelled her career and earned her the affectionate nickname “The Nation’s First Love” in the Korean media.
Over the years, Suzy has continued to captivate audiences with her versatile acting skills and magnetic presence. She has appeared in several popular series, including “Vagabond,” “Start-Up,” “Anna,” and “Doona!”
Throughout her career, Suzy has been associated with various fashion, beauty and watch brands. In her new role, she joins a group of brand ambassadors including South Korean singer V, a member of BTS who is currently serving in the military, actor Park Bo Gum, and singer Danielle from the group NewJeans.
