Luxury footwear brand Christian Louboutin has announced Yang Mi and Karry Wang as its new global ambassadors, signaling a significant move to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market. This strategic decision elevates the roles of two of China’s most influential celebrities, who have previously served as brand ambassadors in their home country.
Yang Mi, a renowned actress and fashion icon, has an impressive following of over 113 million on Weibo, China’s popular microblogging platform. Her journey with Christian Louboutin began earlier this year when she was appointed China ambassador in April. Known for her versatility and style, Yang has represented several high-end fashion brands, including Loewe, Michael Kors and Versace.
Karry Wang, a former member of the popular boy band TFBoys, has been associated with Christian Louboutin since 2021. With 83 million Weibo followers, Wang has successfully transitioned into acting, starring in blockbuster films such as ”The Fallen Bridge” and ”Homecoming.” His appeal to younger audiences makes him a valuable asset to the brand’s expansion plans.
Christian Louboutin, founder of the brand, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and praised both ambassadors for their talent and human qualities. He emphasized the importance of their role in embodying “the essence of the house on a global stage.”
The brand has outlined plans for Yang Mi and Karry Wang to participate in various events throughout the year. Yang will make her debut at Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2025 event during Paris Fashion Week, while Wang will headline an image event in China later this year. Both ambassadors will be featured prominently in upcoming campaigns, the first of which will be released in early 2025.
