Immersed in Valentino’s rich history, the Valentino Escape 2023 collection shines a light on beloved archival prints such as Animalier, Panther and Loop. These iconic patterns imbue quintessential vacation attire, including fluid caftans, breezy dresses, beachwear, and accessories, with a sophisticated elegance.
Take a voyage to the Amalfi Coast’s Ravello, for instance, where guests are invited to experience luxury at its finest at the Palazzo Avino. Starting June 9th, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to discover the capsule collection through a bespoke pop-up while simultaneously enjoying the Roman brand’s takeover of the hotel’s beach club.
Indeed, the adventures are not restricted to Italy. Valentino will extend its artistic escapades to the atelier of renowned Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj in Pietrasanta for those in Forte Dei Marmi and will treat guests in Saint-Tropez to an exploration of contemporary art through an exclusive villa dinner and sculpture park tour. Moreover, experiences ranging from a tour of Mykonos in Greece to exclusive happenings at Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal Hotel and the Hamptons’ scenic shores extend the global reach of the Escape 2023 experience.
Through collaborations with partners such as G&B in Menorca, Saks Fifth Avenue in selected U.S. locations including Beverly Hills, Beymen in Bodrum, and Marassi, Valentino Escape 2023 will be more accessible than ever. Its collection, built upon designs spanning over half a century, will also grace select Valentino stores and its e-commerce platform.
The celebrated Animalier print, first presented in 1967, resurfaces on semi-transparent cover-ups, swimsuits, and Valentino Garavani VLogo Signature heels and flats, reminiscent of a Linda Evangelista-fronted campaign shot by Steven Meisel in the 1980s.
Meanwhile, the Panther motif, debuted in a 1967 couture dress and popularized in images featuring legendary model Veruschka captured by Franco Rubartelli, gets a modern twist on sequin-embroidered tops, chic off-the-shoulder dresses, as well as on bucket bags, scarves and beach towels.
Lastly, the Valentino Loop pattern, echoing the vibrant multicolor font from the 1971 Viva Valentino advertising campaign, has been reimagined for contemporary fashion and adorns crop tops, shorts, frocks and clutches.
Supplementing the apparel, the collection also features bold cat-eye sunglasses created by Akoni and studded laced-up sandals, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to timeless fashion with a modern twist.
