For his Spring/Summer 2025 collection at Tod’s, Creative director Matteo Tamburini embarked on a captivating exploration of Mediterranean ease, drawing inspiration from the sun-drenched landscapes of Italy. Presented against a backdrop of artisans meticulously crafting the brand’s signature Gommino moccasins, the collection served as a testament to Tod’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. A monumental sculpture by Lorenzo Quinn of two colossal hands delicately grasping a ribbon took center stage, symbolizing the profound importance of artistry and manual dexterity.

Tamburini’s vision for the season was informed by the ethereal photography of Luigi Ghirri, capturing the serene beauty of Italian summers. The collection exuded an air of effortless sophistication, with lightweight fabrics and fluid silhouettes taking center stage. A palette reminiscent of the Mediterranean coast, from crisp whites and sandy neutrals to refreshing greens, further enhanced the collection’s breezy aesthetic.

The designer’s keen eye for detail was evident in subtle nods to sportswear, seamlessly integrated into the brand’s DNA. Cotton parkas were reimagined with billowing capes for a sense of dynamism, while the structured yet effortless silhouettes of Cycladic sculptures found resonance in bold, minimalist designs.

Leather, a cornerstone of Tod’s heritage, was treated with exceptional finesse to achieve remarkably supple textures. A standout piece, a floor-length black column dress embellished with a peplum detail, exemplified Tamburini’s ability to bring a contemporary edge to classic silhouettes. The collection also introduced new patterns, including stripes on crisp cotton and inside-out checks on ethereal cotton skirts and tops, creating a captivating veiled effect.

Tamburini’s second collection for Tod’s showcased his deep understanding of the brand’s core values, seamlessly blending heritage with a forward-thinking vision. By embracing artisanal craftsmanship and infusing it with a contemporary spirit, he delivered a collection that resonated with both timeless elegance and modern sensibility.
