True to the sense of spectacle that made his reputation, Thom Browne welcomed his guests – among them the stars Janet Jackson, Doja Cat, Erykah Badu or Maisie Williams – in the magnificent precincts of the Opera Garnier for a fashion show all in flamboyance and opulence with the air of a fairy tale.
It was “an American prom mixed with Cinderella, mixed with the Paris Opera. The two of them together felt like today’s perfect version of Cinderella“, Browne said.
The actress Gwendoline Christie (known for playing in the series ‘’Game of Thrones’’) opened the magnificent tale of Thom Browne, wrapped in an opulent velvet robe with golden embroideries climbing up the back and sleeves. “He loves his little stories and this is going to be a very long story”, the British announced before putting on perfume and admiring herself in a mirror, just like a princess.
As in the last men’s show, four rouge-lipped hot boys, dressed in the signature gray suit of Thom Browne, came to remove the hairdresser of the actress, before the arrival on the runway a whole series of looks all extravagant than each other, with collegiate numbers on each back.
The show ended with Cinderella coming out from a giant shoe surrounded by the last models who danced around her. In no time at all, she was in a pale pink car, driven by four valets in gray uniforms and red lipstick.
