Have you ever wondered what the interior of Thom Browne’s house looked like? Your curiosity will be satisfied as the American designer is opening up the doors, well not literally, to his new Upper East Side townhouse he purchased with his partner, Andrew Bolton, head curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. One of the most poignant features of the house is the hand-painted floral wallpaper they chose for their bedroom. And it is this wallpaper that Thom Browne had chosen to inspire his new Pre-Fall 2022 collection.

“This is one of the most personal references I’ve ever used for a collection”, Browne said.
Although the collection stays true to the eponymous label’s signature DNA of gray blazers, puffer jackets and coats, the pop of color adds a refreshing take to the brand’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection. The detailed canvas wallpaper is interpreted in two colors: a celadon green and a blue. Floral patterns in the wallpaper are reinterpreted and applied to fluffy oversized outerwear and utility blazers with preppy references, as well as comfy slippers and accessories that include a giant red lobster bag.
