In developing the Luka 2, the design team at Jordan Brand had a clear objective in mind: to reflect Doncic‘s multi-directional playing style and facilitate efficient space hunting. The essence of Doncic’s game, the step-back move, served as a guiding principle during the shoe’s creation process. Thus, the Luka 2 is not merely a shoe but a canvas that celebrates Doncic’s remarkable skills and unique playing style.
To help Doncic gain the upper hand on the court, the design team worked on a superior combination of full-length Formula 23 and the IsoPlate. Both are exclusive Jordan innovations. Complementing these features, a medial wedge of Cushlon 3.0 foam ensures the foot is kept at an optimum banking angle, assisting players in efficient push-off.
The heart of the Luka 2 (Luka Doncic shoes) lies in its intricately constructed midsole, an amalgamation of four distinct parts. The Formula 23 foam, serving as the direct underfoot support, is enveloped by a firm foam carrier. Simultaneously, a soft foam wedge on the medial side allows the foot to nestle at the right angle, facilitating a powerful push-off from the court. The latest iteration of the IsoPlate elevates the lateral sidewall against the carrier foam, ensuring the player maintains balance during lateral directional shifts.
The much-anticipated Nike Air Jordan Luka 2 is set to release in the Luk.AI colorway on July 5th for select Nike members worldwide, and on July 11th on jordan.com and select retailers.
