As our digital world continually evolves, unexpected and exciting collaborations arise, broadening the horizons of what’s possible. With that said, imagine strapping on your Nike kicks, launching the NTC app, and embarking on a unique workout experience guided by the world’s top female footballers, all within the comfort of your own living room. As it happens, Nike and Netflix have teamed up to offer you just that.
Celebrating the prowess of global women’s football, Nike has curated five new workouts featuring some of the most accomplished athletes and trainers from its Nike Well Collective. In an effort to democratize access to sport and inspire individuals through movement, these workouts, each ranging between 10 to 15 minutes and available in 11 languages, already available on the Nike Training Club (NTC) app from July 18th and subsequently on Netflix from July 26th. Designed with authenticity and inclusivity, these workouts mirror how elite footballers train, while being adaptable for every athlete and every skill level.
Among the vibrant mix of workouts, we find one designed by New Zealand’s Nike Well Collective trainer Kirsty Godso, who collaborated with Team USA’s Soccer Player of the Year, Sophia Smith. This session targets full-body conditioning, with an emphasis on unilateral strength. Godso also teamed up with Brazilian forward Debinha to craft a workout that strengthens the core, improving stability and mobility.
Traveling across the pond to the United Kingdom, we find Courtney Fearon, another Nike Well Collective trainer. Fearon and Lucy Bronze, England’s most decorated European Cup player, bring you a full-body mobility and recovery workout that provides relief for tension areas common in both footballers and everyday athletes. In Fearon’s second workout, he collaborates with five-time African Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala from Nigeria, to focus on functional resistance training for the glutes and legs.
Meanwhile, in France, Nike Well Collective trainer Edwige Ahonto pairs up with dynamic powerhouse Grace Geyoro, France’s standout midfielder, for a workout that hones in on full-body strength, emphasizing the oft-overlooked area of upper-body training. The workout was filmed entirely in French (and available in 10 other languages).
This initiative between Nike and Netflix, which began in December 2022, grants Netflix‘s 223 million members worldwide access to a specially curated NTC program collection. These programs, accommodating all fitness levels and requiring minimal to no equipment, cover a range of activities, including yoga, strength and mobility training, and high-intensity workouts.
