Marine Serre‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Sempre Legati” (Always Connected), showcased at the breathtaking Villa di Maiano in Tuscany, was a powerful testament to the designer’s unwavering commitment to her origin ethos. The show featured 49 looks modeled by individuals from 25 different nations, epitomizing Serre’s message of hope and unity in the face of adversity.
Eight years after her emergence, Serre remains a radical voice in the fashion industry. Her vocabulary has expanded, and this Pitti Uomo show was a perfect example of her growth as a designer. Initially intended to be an all-menswear presentation, Serre’s excitement about the new locale inspired her to include couture and women’s ready-to-wear in the mix.

The collection showcased a range of silhouettes, from voluminous black moire silk skirts paired with vintage jewelry chest pieces to precisely tailored menswear in double-breasted and single-breasted styles. Scarlet and black were the dominant colors, with leather garments punctuating the looks for both genders. Serre’s signature glossy, airbrushed leather looks and meshed bodysuits featuring her crescent moon motif were also present, maintaining the collection’s recognizable Serre aesthetic.
Upcycling played a significant role in the collection, with many of the all-white looks crafted from embroidered bed sheets and scarf-inspired pieces transforming into trench coats, liner coats, and a trompe l’oeil scarf effect dress. The menswear shirting, made from upcycled scarves with collars reminiscent of Tony Montana’s iconic style, added a touch of cinematic flair. Other looks were created using mostly German tote bags and tennis bags, showcasing Serre’s commitment to sustainability.
The location, live band, and collection combined to create a captivating new chapter in the Serre story. While her work is deeply rooted in Paris, this temporary shift to the idyllic Tuscan hillside enhanced her designs, demonstrating the power of embracing change and drawing inspiration from new surroundings.
As the sun set over the darkening Tuscan landscape and swallows danced in the dappled cloudscape above, Marine Serre’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection stood as a powerful reminder of the importance of hope, unity, and the enduring power of fashion to connect us all.
