As if kissed by a sunlit Mediterranean breeze, Loewe, the illustrious Spanish gem of the LVMH crown, has gracefully unfurled its elegance onto East Hampton’s iconic Main Street.
Blending seamlessly into the coastal narrative of East Hampton, Loewe’s latest chapter is a dance between sophistication and tranquility. The boutique bathes in the luxury of space with its 3,000-square-foot expanse, promising patrons a comprehensive rendezvous with Loewe’s coveted creations – from women’s ready-to-wear and dainty leather goods to evocative home scents and glinting jewelry. And for the gents? They’ll have their Loewe moment come November.
But Loewe’s entry isn’t merely a tale of expansion. It’s a statement, harmonizing with luxury luminaries like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Gucci. Yet, the store doesn’t just echo opulence; it respects its milieu. The ambient reflection of hand-glazed Spanish tiles warms your soul, a gesture of homage to its roots. These tiles juxtapose beautifully with sleek expanses of concrete, as if the sands of Spain met the strength of the Hamptons.
Sustainability isn’t an afterthought. With Loewe’s embrace of a modular design system from Molo Design, the boutique brims with artistry and responsibility. These 100-percent recyclable paper blocks can be sculpted, molded, and arranged, ever-changing, just like the fashion it houses.
Vibrant rugs, woven with stories by Colombian women artisans, caress your feet, while iconic Utrecht armchairs beckon you. Their angular designs, conceived by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, are adorned in zesty fabrics that whisper tales of faraway lands. Loewe’s inimitable touch – black iron martini tables and poised ceramic podiums – orchestrates the overall mood, a symphony of design.
Art doesn’t shy away in this East Hampton epicenter. It stands proudly beside fashion, the store a canvas for a global anthology of sculpture, furniture, and craft. A special nod goes to the masterpiece pots by Arko, a finalist of the Loewe Craft Prize 2018. These vessels, reimagined versions of traditional Galician clay pots, are relics from the Loewe x Sotheby’s project Weavers.
In the preceding two summers, Loewe had set up a temporary presence at Ryland’s Life Equipment in Sag Harbor. This East Hampton establishment marks Loewe’s seventh storefront in the U.S., joining their prestigious locations on Manhattan’s Greene Street, in Miami’s Design District, at Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza, on Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive, in Honolulu’s Ala Moana, and at Las Vegas’ Wynn.
