H&M is ready to take the fashion world by storm this holiday season with its latest collection, elegantly embodying the timeless “Smoking” look. Inspired by how men’s fashion can be brilliantly reinvented and worn by women, H&M’s Holiday 2023 collection blends sleek, elongated silhouettes with draped masterpieces, romantic volumes, evening gowns and tailored suits. The collection will be released on November 9th and will be available in stores and online at hm.com.
The collection’s color palette is striking in its simplicity, dominated by monochromes of black, white and silver. Iconic pieces include a strapless mini dress with tuxedo detailing, a short jacket embroidered with sequins and tied with large black grosgrain bows, a white poplin bib-front shirt, structured skirts and shimmering dresses. This season’s focus is on defined shoulders, narrow waists and flowing lines. In addition, XXL bows, oversized ruffles and glittering elements enhance each piece. Pants are long and wide, while asymmetrical jersey dresses offer sculptural draping. Accessories also shine with party bags, bejeweled shoes, faux leather gloves and oversized rhinestone necklaces.
”For the holiday season, we wanted to explore the dialogue between womenswear and menswear. So while the collection has strong elements of tuxedo and tailoring, we made sure to balance it with graceful draping and shiny embellishments. The look and feel is classic yet edgy and ideal for celebrating with loved ones,” says Eliana Masgalos, Concept designer at H&M.
This year’s holiday campaign focuses on unity and features celebrities and their families, including Mila Jovovich, Bobby Gillespie, Paloma Elsesser and models Małgosia Bela, Mona Tougaard, Lauren & Chloé Nguyen. Shot by renowned Swedish photographer Mikael Jansson and styled by Suzanne Koller, the campaign brings the collection to life.
