Gabriela Hearst unveiled its first-ever sneaker model called “Ohio” during the Spring/Summer 2025 runway presentation. The Ohio represents the brand’s deepening commitment to environmental responsibility without sacrificing the premium quality consumers have come to expect from the Hearst name.

Made in Italy, the Ohio incorporates impressive environmental credentials throughout its construction. Each pair features rubber soles made with 30% recycled content and stitching made with 30% recycled polyester that meets Global Recycled Standard certifications. Distinctive leather laces add textural interest to the slip-on design, while an interior elastic band is made from 100% recycled polyester and natural rubber.
Environmental responsibility extends to every component. Leather is sourced exclusively from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group, ensuring responsible sourcing practices. Perhaps most notably, Gabriela Hearst chose water-based adhesives instead of traditional solvent-based options, eliminating polyurethane and significantly reducing chemical usage.
Available colorways currently include White, White with multi-colored stitching details, Sand, and Light Blue Denim. The collection will expand with bolder options including Dark Chocolate, Cobalt, Olive, Antelope Orange and Golden Birch Nabuk leather.
Consumers can find the Ohio sneaker at Gabriela Hearst flagship stores in New York, Beverly Hills, London and Tokyo, as well as on the brand’s official website.
