Known for its blend of elegance and practicality, the Ferragamo Ballerina has become a wardrobe staple for women who appreciate timeless style and comfort. Inspired by the grace of ballet, these shoes have a storied history dating back to the 1920s when Salvatore Ferragamo first began making them.
A pioneer in shoe design, Ferragamo focused on understanding the anatomy of the foot to ensure that comfort never compromised elegance. In the 1950s and 1960s, Ferragamo’s creations adorned the feet of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Marilyn Monroe, as well as famous dancers such as Katherine Dunham, Alicia Markova, Anna Pavlova, Colette Marchand and Agnes de Mille. The influence of these stars still resonates today, as the latest collection pays homage to their iconic style.
This season, Ferragamo introduces a new twist on the classic Ballerina. The Fall/Winter 2024 collection features a version inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance, crafted in luxurious merino wool. The rubber sole and Opanka construction ensure durability and comfort, while the lace that elegantly crosses the instep ends with a signature metallic double F closure. Available in a range of colors – black, beige, yellow and lavender – this model caters to a variety of tastes and preferences.
In addition to this standout, the collection offers a variety of other styles. The pouch construction Ballerina with Vara plaque, available in white paired with black or pink, offers a chic alternative for those seeking understated elegance. Meanwhile, the black cracked patent leather version with double Gancini charm exudes a bold, modern vibe. For a touch of classic femininity, the V-neck model with a Vara grosgrain bow comes in options such as all black, blue denim with a nude bow or white with a red bow, offering versatile choices for the discerning consumer.
Beginning with the new Resort 2025 season, the Ferragamo Ballerina is sold in new packaging: a powder pink box, reminiscent of the color of the ballet slippers, with the “Ballerina by Ferragamo” logo designed by Salvatore Ferragamo himself in the mid-1950s, the decade in which he dedicated himself most to creating these models.
