Unveiled in the lush gardens of Drummond Castle in Scotland, the Dior Cruise 2025 (Resort 2025) collection masterfully blends the rich history of the iconic French fashion house with the romantic and dramatic heritage of Scotland. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s extraordinary designs pay homage to traditional Scottish textiles while infusing them with her signature touch of realism and transcendence.
Dior’s exploration of Scotland’s sartorial traditions goes beyond the punk aesthetic often associated with the country. Chiuri delves into the intricacies of Scottish textiles, working with local artisans to incorporate tweeds from Johnstons of Elgin, cashmere from Esk Cashmere and the resilient Harris tweed into her Cruise 2025 collection. The result is a stunning array of garments that showcase the versatility and beauty of these time-honored fabrics.
Inspired by historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, who used embroidery as a form of political commentary, Chiuri adorns bodices with intricate floral scrolls. The collection also includes classic Dior bar jackets cut from heather plaid scarves, corsets with a heraldic feel, and evening gowns in black Jacobean velvet, some with white lace at the neck and décolleté.

Lace takes center stage in gunmetal and gold, paneled and patched into gowns with seams ruffled with delicate ruffles. Accessories such as pearls hanging from leather chokers, studded and quilted leather crossbody bags, and casually unzipped biker boots and leather wading boots add an edgy yet sophisticated touch to the ensembles.
Chiuri’s dedication to her craft is evident in her extensive research and collaborations. The collection reflects her belief that fashion is more than brands; it is a reflection of culture, history and the artisans who bring these garments to life.
