Channing Tatum has been unveiled as the face of Versace‘s Eros fragrance for men, marking his debut campaign for the iconic fashion house. The actor embodies a modern version of the Greek god of love, Eros, in a series of captivating images and a short video directed by photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
In the campaign, Tatum is seen racing against his own arrow, symbolizing the constant challenge of improving yourself mentally and physically, pushing boundaries to achieve previously unthinkable goals. The journey takes him through different landscapes, each representing a different fragrance from the Eros collection, including the new Eros Energy Eau de Parfum Pour Homme.
Donatella Versace, the Creative director of the brand, praised Tatum’s strength and determination, as well as his kindness and charm, which make him the perfect embodiment of modern Eros. “He is the modern Eros – celebrating love, power and dedication,” she said.
Tatum expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Versace Eros fragrances, acknowledging their powerful place in both fashion and culture. “To do so for my friend Donatella is beyond words,” he added.
Styled by Jacob K, Tatum showcases a range of Versace looks in the campaign, from tailored ensembles to bold prints, accessorized with signature Versace elements such as studded belts and gold chains.
The Eros fragrance line, developed by Versace fragrance licensee Euroitalia and first introduced in 2012, pays homage to Gianni Versace’s love of Greek history. The instantly recognizable geometric bottle features iconic Versace codes such as the head of Medusa and the Greca motif. For the new Eros Energy fragrance, the bottle has been redesigned in a vibrant yellow hue with a bronze cap.
Inspired by the Mediterranean coastline, Eros Energy is a citrus-woody scent created by master perfumer Jordi Fernández. The fragrance features a top note of Italian bergamot, orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin, followed by a heart of pink peppercorn, blackcurrant and white amber, and a base of patchouli, musk and oakmoss.
The new fragrance will be available worldwide from September in 50 ml, 100 ml and 200 ml sizes, priced between 100 and 155 euros.
