AMI Alexandre Mattiussi’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection presents a refreshing embrace of honest fashion, focusing on creating clothes that resonate with real people. Set in a beautifully weathered former postal station, the show exuded a sense of timelessness and genuine charm. The atmosphere was enhanced by the soulful saxophone melodies of Caleb Arredondo, which complemented the understated sophistication of the collection.
Mattiussi continues to focus on the essentials, creating pieces that combine simplicity with subtle, distinctive details. Oversized tailored outerwear made a significant statement with double-faced gabardine embellished with tonal silk patches at the lapels. This meticulous attention to texture and fabric added depth to the garments without overwhelming them. Roomy, slouchy suits for men and women featured wide-legged trousers that offered comfort without sacrificing style.

The collection introduced sophisticated workwear elements such as woven patterned wool blousons and generously cut wool work shirts. These pieces combined practicality with elegance, embodying Mattiussi’s vision of fashion that supports everyday life. Silk accents appeared on crisp cotton shirts, some with built-in matching scarves inspired by the designer’s leisurely electric bike rides around the city. These touches added a touch of whimsy while maintaining the overall coherence of the collection.
Outerwear was further elevated with shaggy shearling collars on men’s parkas and luxurious fur coats for women. The long-haired coats were paired with the new Mimi handbag, a sleek and sturdy accessory that balances style with durability. Mattiussi demonstrated its resilience, reflecting its commitment to offering honest products that stand the test of time.
Throughout the collection, there was a conscious move away from overt branding and unnecessary embellishment. Mattiussi’s philosophy focuses on creating garments that his clientele will cherish, fostering a personal connection between the wearer and the garment. By focusing on quality materials and thoughtful design, he aims to make fashion accessible and meaningful.
The inclusion of experienced models such as Liya Kebede, Karen Elson, Audrey Marnay and Jessica Miller underscored the collection’s appeal across age groups. Womenswear played a prominent role, signaling the brand’s intention to expand this category, which, along with accessories, currently represents a significant growth opportunity.
