adidas has unveiled the Supernova Rise 2, the latest addition to its comfort-focused Supernova line for everyday runners. Designed to provide even greater comfort than its award-winning predecessor, this new model introduces several key updates.
The Supernova Rise 2 features a redesigned upper with a refined sandwich mesh material for improved breathability and a secure fit. This evolution contributes to a shoe that is 4% lighter than the original, thanks to the updated engineered outer mesh and streamlined heel cushion. The new heel construction incorporates a refined foam collar that improves support and comfort for runners.
Underfoot, the shoe retains the core elements that made the original so popular with runners. It features full-length Dreamstrike+ super-foam, inspired by the Lightstrike Pro midsole material used in adidas’ record-breaking Adizero line. This updated foam formula provides exceptional comfort and cushioning. This is complemented by the Support Rod system embedded in the midsole, which provides stability and aids in the transition from heel to toe. The ADIWEAR outsole is made of durable rubber for optimal traction on the road.
JT Newcomb, Category Director of adidas Running Footwear, said the team’s goal was to bring back everything runners loved about the previous model while adding new features to improve comfort. He emphasized that the redesigned upper not only improves comfort, but also contributes to the shoe’s lighter weight, with the goal of providing the best everyday running experience, mile after mile.
The Supernova Rise 2 will be available in Orbit Grey for men and Wonder Quartz for women. Priced at €150 EUR (or $140 USD), the shoe will be available online and in stores at adidas.com/running-shoes starting December 3rd. Additional colorways are expected to be released in 2025.
