adidas Originals and Montreal-based design studio JJJJound have joined forces to create a stunning collaboration featuring the iconic Samba silhouette. This partnership brings together two powerhouses in the world of footwear, resulting in a collection that seamlessly blends the rich heritage of adidas with the timeless aesthetic of JJJJound.
Founded in 2006 by Justin R. Saunders, JJJJound has established itself as a cultural tastemaker, inspiring the design community and beyond with its digital mood board. The studio’s inimitable lens has now been applied to one of adidas’ most iconic sneakers, the Samba, made at the brand’s Scheinfeld factory in Germany.
The adidas Originals x JJJJound collaboration features two premium leather iterations of the Samba – a sleek black version with white stripes and a crisp white option with black stripes. While the colorways may appear simple at first glance, the real magic lies in the meticulous attention to detail and elevated touches that have become synonymous with JJJJound’s work.
Each pair of Sambas in this collection features co-branded sock liners and custom vintage hang tags, adding a touch of exclusivity and nostalgia. The sneakers are crafted by skilled artisans at the adidas factory in Scheinfeld, Germany, ensuring the highest level of quality and craftsmanship.
The shoes come in a co-branded box with JJJJound tissue paper, further emphasizing the collaborative nature of this release.
To celebrate the launch of the adidas Originals x JJJJound Samba, a carefully curated campaign has been created that showcases the dedication and expertise of the artisans at the Scheinfeld factory. Through a series of behind-the-scenes images and films, the campaign pays tribute to the people who brought this collaboration to life and highlights the spirit of craftsmanship that underpins both adidas Originals and JJJJound.
