For Alberta Ferretti Spring 2027, Lorenzo Serafini looked to fashion as a form of release. His collection, titled “A Beautiful Escape,” was shaped by references to the 1920s, especially the sense of movement and bodily freedom found in the work of Léon Bakst, Erté and choreographer George Balanchine.
That historical starting point did not lead to a literal period revival. Instead, Serafini used it to loosen the silhouette. Slip dresses, bias-cut satin, kimono jackets, balloon trousers and soft layers created a wardrobe that seemed designed to move rather than hold the body in place. Lingerie details appeared throughout, often making the boundary between dressing and undressing intentionally less rigid.
Color was equally important. Serafini, who has often worked within softer palettes, introduced stronger shades of blue, rust and mustard, alongside ivory, black, lilac, pistachio and powder pink. The tones were vivid without looking overly polished. Many seemed slightly faded, as if exposed to sun and salt air.
The collection’s prints added another layer. Floral motifs appeared on iridescent grounds and were combined across trousers, belts and kimono-style pieces. Ikat patterns also entered the mix, giving the clothes a more travelled, less formal character. If you look closely, the styling was less about perfect coordination than about ease. That was part of the point.

Serafini also focused heavily on fabric. Much of the collection depended on materials that looked almost liquid, with satin, sheer textiles and featherweight surfaces giving the clothes an airy quality. Even layered looks remained light. Fringe and feather details brought movement to hems and trousers without making the silhouettes feel heavy.
The models wore flats as they moved through the house’s headquarters, reinforcing the sense of informality. There was little interest in rigid glamour. Instead, the clothes suggested holidays, warm climates and a slower rhythm of dressing.
The final evening looks showed how Serafini has adapted to Alberta Ferretti’s established language. Boudoir-inspired dresses and delicate construction still spoke to the house’s long association with soft femininity, but the overall image felt less tied to the founder’s familiar visual codes.
That shift is central to Alberta Ferretti Spring 2027. Serafini is beginning to define the house on his own terms without abandoning what made it recognizable. The result is a collection built around freedom, color and ease, with enough continuity to feel coherent and enough change to feel current.
