Dior has chosen Rome for its Cruise 2026 (Resort 2026) show, scheduled for May 27th, 2025. The event marks a return to the birthplace of Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Following shows in culturally rich locations such as Athens, Mexico City and Scotland, this will be Chiuri’s first Dior presentation in the Eternal City.
The decision to hold the show in Rome pays tribute to the historical and cultural links between Italy and Dior, as well as Chiuri’s personal ties to the city. Born and raised in Rome, she began her career at local fashion houses Fendi and Valentino before heading Dior’s womenswear collections. Beyond fashion, Chiuri is involved in the restoration of the historic Teatro della Cometa, a 250-seat theater that closed during the pandemic.
While Dior hasn’t revealed the exact location of the Rome show, it is expected to showcase Chiuri’s signature approach of collaborating with local artisans to highlight regional craftsmanship.
The announcement adds to an increasingly crowded Cruise calendar for 2025. Chanel will kick off the season on Lake Como on April 29th, Gucci will showcase in Florence on May 15th, and Louis Vuitton is planning a show on May 23rd at an undisclosed location. In addition, Max Mara will host a two-day resort experience in Naples on June 16th and 17th, and fellow LVMH brand Fendi, which is celebrating its centenary, is also expected to highlight Rome during its milestone year.
