Famed Parisian institution Café de la Paix has unveiled its 2024 Christmas log, and it’s sure to melt the hearts (and palates) of children and adults alike. This year’s creation isn’t just a delicious dessert, it’s a whimsical journey back to childhood Christmases.
Made from a combination of milk chocolate and Blond Dulcey chocolate, the centerpiece is a sculpted teddy bear that evokes the joy of simpler times. Not only is this charming fellow adorable, he’s also playfully interactive. Surrounding the bear are “gifts” to nibble on – delightful balls made from a trio of chocolates: Blond Dulcey, Dark and White. But the real magic is in the log itself.
Beneath the teddy bear’s enchanting exterior lies a symphony of textures and flavors. A creamy mousse of organic Madagascar vanilla takes center stage, punctuated by a delicate vanilla cookie insert and a layer of crunchy, caramelized pecan feuillantine praline. For an extra touch of indulgence, a pecan cremeux and a hint of salted butter caramel add richness and depth.
