Emmanuelle Alt ends her tenure at Vogue Paris by celebrating the French fashion magazine’s monumental 100th anniversary, which is a year late as a result of the pandemic.

To mark the historic occasion, Alt reflects back on Vogue Paris’ rich history by selecting an image from the archives for the front cover. The collectible October 2021 issue is adorned with a portrait by legendary photographer Guy Bourdin originally published in its April 1979 edition.
The cover, featuring a bold red heart with Vogue Paris logo and ‘’100 ans’’ (or ‘’100 years’’) in gold foil, was chosen as an echo of the issue’s central idea that ‘’archives [are] the heart of a magazine, its spine, its words that remain for eternity. They are its voice, its confidences, its deep secrets that they share with you’’, the team said in a statement.
