This new chapter in the long-standing partnership between Nike and JACQUEMUS brings back one of the most significant sneakers from the brand’s archives. The upcoming JACQUEMUS x Nike Moon Shoe collection revisits the silhouette that introduced the world to Bill Bowerman’s revolutionary waffle sole. This release is notable because the original model has seen very few retro releases, despite its foundational importance to Nike.

The collaboration was first quietly unveiled during the JACQUEMUS Fall 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week. The shoe’s return taps into the current demand for slim, vintage-inspired trainers. Nike seems to be digging deep into its history to find models that resonate with today’s trends. Previously, the company brought back silhouettes like the Field General and LD-1000.

The original Moon Shoe was a true innovation developed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman. He famously used his family’s waffle iron to create the distinctive sole pattern, which was designed to offer runners superior grip. Only a few of these prototypes were made for athletes at the 1972 Olympic trials, so original pairs are incredibly rare and valuable collector’s items. One pair sold at auction for nearly half a million dollars.

The new collection will feature three distinct colorways. Expect to see white and black, black and white, and red and white versions. Each shoe has a nylon base with suede overlays and a leather Swoosh. The design stays true to its roots with the iconic gum waffle outsole, and subtle JACQUEMUS branding appears on the tongue. Premium details, such as leather lace tips — a signature of past Jacquemus collaborations — complete the look.

As excitement builds for this release, specific details remain under wraps. The JACQUEMUS x Nike Moon Shoe collection is expected to launch during the 2025 holiday season. Official pricing and a concrete release date have not yet been announced, so keep an eye out for updates.
