Jonathan Simkhai, the designer behind the eponymous label, has opted to forgo a traditional runway show for his Fall/Winter 2024 collection. This decision comes after Simkhai successfully presented his previous Spring/Summer line through appointments and a lookbook, which yielded “as much business and as much volume from a sales perspective” as a runway show, according to the designer himself.
Simkhai emphasizes his desire to “focus on the customer and on the product that would really resonate with the customer in store.” This shift in presentation reflects the ongoing debate surrounding the validity of the runway format, especially amidst economic uncertainties.

The Fall/Winter 2024 collection embodies the spirit of American sportswear, brimming with practical and versatile separates perfect for everyday life. Think sophisticated pieces suitable for school functions, professional meetings, or casual outings with friends.
While the collection boasts stunning evening wear featuring intricate details like engineered guipure lace, the emphasis lies on daywear. Highlights include a playfully reimagined Oxford shirt paired with an asymmetric yoked top and the ever-present Simkhai trench coat, now presented in a trendy merlot hue. A classic khaki trench coat receives a modern update with exposed seams cinching the waist for a flattering silhouette.
Simkhai joins the ranks of designers embracing the aviator trend this season, offering a customizable zippered flight jacket complemented by similarly zippered cargo pants. Draped silhouettes emerge as another recurring theme, showcased in a sleek vegan leather bustier and statement dresses. These pieces, while distinctly modern, subtly evoke the comfort-driven styles of the 1970s, resonating with contemporary preferences for chic yet comfortable attire.
