Compared to his previous collections that honor the often Surrealist, always imaginative legacy of founder Elsa Schiaparelli, Daniel Roseberry’s Spring/Summer 2023 ready-to-wear line, titled “The Extra Ordinary”, felt positively calm.
Presented at the Hotel d’Evreux on Place Vendôme, Roseberry offered an “extra ordinary” wardrobe: silhouettes that adapt to your daily needs, always enhanced with trompe l’oeil details and his anatomical gold hardware.
“I feel like culture is going into that era like the ‘80s where things were getting shocking for the sake of being shocking”, Roseberry said. “Returning to this glamorous old Hollywood feeling is something that starts to feel really right”. Before continuing, “Ready-to-wear may be beholden to certain practical considerations, but that doesn’t mean that the woman who wears it isn’t any less entitled to fantasy than those who buy couture”.
