In celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary, Chitose Abe presents an ambitious vision for the future, building on Sacai‘s established aesthetic with a distinctly Parisian flair.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection showcases Abe’s innovative approach to design, transforming classic wardrobe staples into complex, intriguing garments. From military parkas reimagined as dramatic cold-shoulder dresses to Breton-striped tops reimagined as minidresses, Abe’s ingenuity is evident throughout. The designer’s signature hybrid silhouettes are prominent, with ruffles created from deconstructed trench coats and strategically placed panels on boiler suits. A palette of black, neutrals and white, accented with plaid and animal prints, contributes to the collection’s sophisticated Parisian feel.
The influence of the brand’s new Paris office is evident, with subtle details such as silky white shirt collars and a gold “SA” monogram adding a touch of French elegance.
The collection is further enhanced by couture-inspired embellishments, such as bustles adorning striped tees and sheer panels incorporated into knitwear. The show culminated in a series of evening looks that epitomized Abe’s mastery of pattern and cut. Deconstructed tuxedo jackets offered a fresh perspective on formal wear while remaining true to Sacai’s unconventional yet refined style.
