After collaborating with Jean Paul Gaultier in July 2021 for a hybrid haute couture collection made from reinvented archives of the French house, Japan’s Chitose Abe was finally back in Paris this season to unveil her fall collection for Sacai with a physical show.

Known for her clever hybrid constructions, Chitose Abe hijacked the men’s wardrobe, playing with volumes and lightness of materials. Thus, jackets were sawed in half and belted over crisp white cotton shirts, and pants were reshaped into strapless tops.
Finally, this fashion show was the opportunity for the designer to announce her collaboration with Cartier, “Cartier for Chitose Abe”, which was declined in six pieces, including a ring, a bracelet, earrings and a necklace.
