Puma is set to redefine the runway at New York Fashion Week with a groundbreaking event heralding the return of the iconic Mostro sneaker. Scheduled for February 8th at 8pm at the prestigious Park Avenue Armory, the show will celebrate the relaunch of the Mostro, a shoe that has captured the imagination of many since its debut in 1999.
The Mostro takes its name from the Italian word for “monster.” The sneaker’s distinctive features, such as the spiked sole and versatile strap closure, set it apart from conventional designs and embody Puma’s philosophy of pushing boundaries. The event will showcase a mix of custom and commercial pieces that complement the Mostro, drawn from Puma’s upcoming SELECT AW24 catalog.
Heiko Desens, Puma’s Creative director, shared insights into the motivation behind the show, stating, “With this show we will celebrate the comeback of one of our most unconventional ‘low-profile’ icons. We will also be using this moment to reveal some Mostro design concepts clearly pointing towards the future to build the sneaker archive of tomorrow.”
