‘’A vision beyond your imagination. See it, feel it and live it. Experience the show and escape into another dimension. This show is a futuristic work of art and innovation’’. It was with those words and a wacky, psychedelic video with cartoon gorillas, gold skeletons, puffers and sneakers springing to life, dancing and striding across a fantasy version of Milan’s Piazza del Duomo to Snoop Dogg’s tune ‘’Drop It Like It’s Hot’’ that Philipp Plein had unveiled his Fall/Winter 2021 collection which projected us directly into the radiant era of post-COVID.

‘’I wanted to give summer feelings to the winter collection, and to design for the future – the future is bright’’, said the designer before continuing: ‘’We are hoping that when this collection comes out we will have things under control again, and that after a year when it’s been impossible, people will be ready to have fun again’’.
And to that end, Philipp Plein opened his collection with a series of rainbow and monochrome tie-dye looks ranging from sequined evening outfits awash in color and dazzling prints to tracksuits and streetwear, complemented by trainers decorated with Swarovski crystals. Animal and logo prints jostle alongside Looney Tunes’ Bugs Bunny and Tweetie Bird and – weirdly – a blue toile de jouy, which Plein said reminded him of the Laura Ashley prints of his childhood.
