With the women’s Nike Shox TL “Obsidian/Metallic Platinum,” Nike continues its exploration of archival treasures. This release moves away from recent gradient patterns, embracing an ocean-inspired, solid color palette instead. The design features a dark “Obsidian” navy mesh upper, complemented by royal blue panels at the front and back. Lighter baby blue accents on the liner and a small section of the midsole under the heel provide subtle contrast.

The shoe’s origins in the early 2000s are clearly visible, particularly in the striking “Metallic Platinum” finish of the signature Shox columns. These columns are made of a durable polyurethane material that provides exceptional impact absorption and responsiveness with each step. Full-length Shox cushioning provides a smooth ride, a significant improvement over earlier models that used foam in the forefoot.

The breathable mesh and synthetic upper offers both comfort and durability. Molded overlays in the midfoot ensure a secure fit, and a TPU plate in the heel adds lateral stability and support. This construction makes the shoe a versatile option suitable for a wide range of wearers, from those with a lighter build to those who need more substantial cushioning. It’s an almost exact replica of the 2003 icon, bringing back a bold, fearless design for today’s streets.

The Nike Shox TL “Obsidian/Metallic Platinum” (SKU: IH4481-400) will be available on August 1 for $170 at Nike.com and select retailers.
