With the 2011 sci-fi film ‘’Melancholia’’, astrology, and Björk among his points of inspiration, Massimo Giorgetti pairs MSGM’s distinctive Italian craftsmanship with a modern edge. The designer almost entirely abandoned his visually bold, pop color and print collections of the past for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, which was instead defined by a sort of intergalactic elegance.

“In January, NASA discovered a new star, and I was completely obsessed”, the designer said backstage. “It was a coincidence because I wanted to do an intimate show in our new [headquarters], and I already had this theme. And when this star was discovered, I went crazy”.
He scattered stars like confetti on the shoulders of oversize blazers and overcoats, adding a touch of glamour to the season’s power tailoring trend and layered an oversize star-patterned cardigan over a chic star cutout ribbon fringed skirt for a cozy touch. MSGM’s vitamin-like, acidic palette was also ditched in favor of black, and of a subtler chromatic register of amethyst, quartz and zinc yellow.
