If its previous collections were haunted by post-apocalyptic universes and science fiction films, the Marine Serre Fall/Winter 2021 collection, entitled ‘’CORE’’, was intended to be more optimistic, warm and cheerful, suggesting harmony.
Going along with the lookbook was a two-minutes trailer which was in fact a foretaste. Indeed, it was on the brand’s website that we discovered the entire collection, 69 looks for men, women, children and seniors, and a documentary made up of several videos, completed by a book-catalog, all part of a three-act project.
The video showed her loved ones filmed in their daily lives – who danced, baked, hung out with their lovers and children and dressed up to stay home – who form her community of followers, all dressed in Marine Serre of course, but also behind the scenes of her creation and upcycling process.

‘’This last year has been difficult for everyone, but there is no longer any question about it, things must be done differently. We want to bring Ecofuturism to the streets’’, said Marine Serre in the show note.
Thus, she can boast this season of presenting a collection made up of 50% regenerated styles and the other half with products realized by using recycled fibres.
In an often warm color palette (camel, caramel, cocoa, orange, rust) and dominated by her signature motif – the crescent moon – and patchworks suggesting the mixing of cultures, beliefs and ideas, the collection made the focus on silhouettes influenced by sportswear or workwear.
‘’CORE is a love letter to all who are feeling lost in a world of isolation. This year we found strength in our roots and imagination as a force for transformation’’, she wrote in the show note.
