At the historic Monnaie de Paris, where France’s currency has been minted since the ninth century, Marine Serre unveiled her Fall/Winter 2025 collection – a defiant celebration of sustainability, independence and feminist vision. Against a backdrop of red curtains reminiscent of David Lynch’s surrealism, Serre transformed the venue into a stage for her latest statement: fashion can challenge systems, even those as entrenched as the Parisian fashion-industrial complex.
Guests were given a gold coin with Serre’s profile on one side and her crescent emblem on the other. This talisman, she explained, symbolized her ambition to redefine value in an industry often reduced to profit. “I want Marine Serre to feel radical yet refined,” the designer said backstage, underscoring her mission to combine rebellion with timeless elegance.

The collection itself wove together cinematic references and Serre’s signature eco-futurism. A black catsuit made from upcycled motorcycle leather evoked the enigmatic allure of Irma Vep, while a Hitchcock-inspired leather sheath dress with exaggerated shoulders balanced drama with wearability. Tailored suits – sharp, boxy and layered over tiger-stripe base layers – offered a fresh take on power dressing, demonstrating the brand’s ability to straddle nonconformity and sophistication.
Upcycling remained central. A matelot-inspired sailor suit reimagined classic bourgeois staples with recycled fabrics, and an ivory evening gown pieced together from vintage silk nightgowns demonstrated Serre’s commitment to circularity. Accessories reflected this ethos: MS Crush crescent-topped pumps, Aurora bags, and jewelry adorned with miniature coins reinforced the idea of lasting value.
Serre’s growth was palpable. Once known for apocalyptic runway sets, she now infiltrates Parisian haute couture archetypes with what she calls a “Trojan horse” approach – subverting tradition from within. Crisp shirt dresses paired with oversized blazers catered to modern professionals, while lingerie-trimmed slip dresses and tiger-print catsuits maintained the brand’s countercultural edge.
“Fashion is about archetypes,” Serre said, underscoring her focus on creating garments meant to last. “When you invest in Marine Serre, you’re not just buying clothes-you’re keeping them.”
For Fall/Winter 2025, Marine Serre solidified her position as a pioneer who refuses to compromise. By minting her own currency and redefining Parisian elegance through sustainability, she is proving that independence and integrity can thrive even in fashion’s most moneyed corridors.
