Louis Vuitton continues to expand its renowned Travel Book collection with Milan, Italy’s fashion and design capital, illustrated from the distinctive perspective of French artist Jeanne Detallante. Born in Paris in 1978, the illustrator brings her unique visual language to capture Milan’s architectural contrasts and hidden courtyards.
What makes this addition to the Louis Vuitton Travel Book series particularly compelling is Detallante’s personal connection to the region. With ancestral roots in nearby Piedmont, her exploration goes beyond the tourist attractions to uncover Milan’s authentic character.
Her artistic technique combines delicate charcoal and felt-tip linework with playful paper cutouts that reference Italian design icons such as Gio Ponti and Ettore Sottsass. These elements create a visual diary that readers can experience page by page.
Now based in Brussels, Detallante has collaborated with Prada, Vogue, and The New Yorker, and has even ventured into political graphic novels, most recently an illustrated biography of Joan Baez.

The Louis Vuitton Travel Book Milan offers readers an intimate look at a city often defined by its fashion week and cathedral, but which contains countless subtle wonders to be discovered through an artist’s discerning eye.
