Casa Loewe, the Spanish luxury fashion brand’s latest retail venture, has found its new home in the heart of Seoul’s chic Apgujeong neighborhood. Spanning an impressive 4661 square feet (433 m²) over three floors, the store creates an immersive experience that seamlessly blends fashion, interior design and art.
Creative director Jonathan Anderson’s vision for Casa Loewe Seoul is to evoke the ambiance of an art collector’s home, inviting guests to explore the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, home fragrances and eyewear. The store’s exclusive collection of artist-designed handbags and baskets, featuring works by renowned artists such as Hafu Matsumoto and Tanabe Chikuunsai 4th, adds a unique touch to the shopping experience.
The exterior of Casa Loewe Seoul is adorned with an eye-catching, handcrafted green ceramic facade, creating a captivating contrast to the bustling business district. Inside, the use of concrete provides a cool respite from the outdoor heat, while accents of oak, brass, blue and brown echo the dynamic play of Anderson’s designs.
The store’s interior is a curated gallery of designer furniture, including Berin Club chairs, Utrecht and Steltman chairs, and George Nakashima’s minimalist woodwork. Leather puffer benches by Loewe grace the abstract rugs by British textile artist John Allen, while a mesmerizing spiral of interwoven bamboo by Chikuunsai dominates the first and second floors.
The space is further enhanced by the presence of art by Loewe Foundation Craft Prize winners and finalists such as Eriko Inazaki, Dahye Jeong, and Youngsoon Lee. Pottery by John Ward and Zizipho Poswa, a sculpture by Ro Robertson, and paintings by Raphaela Simon and Poppy Jones add to the store’s eclectic and captivating atmosphere.
As Loewe’s fourteenth store in South Korea, the store solidifies the brand’s presence in the country and offers a unique experience for fashion and art lovers alike.
