HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE has been officially announced as the “guest of honor” for the upcoming 108th edition of Pitti Uomo, which will take place in Florence from June 17th-20th, 2025. The acclaimed Japanese menswear line will present its Spring/Summer 2026 collection during a special event on Wednesday, June 18th, at an undisclosed location in Florence.
The announcement marks an important shift for the brand, which has traditionally shown its collections during Paris Fashion Week. The appearance at Pitti Uomo is the first step in a new strategic direction, as HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE plans to present its work in various global locations in the coming seasons.

“We feel grateful for this opportunity to be featured at one of the most celebrated menswear events around the world,” said the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE design team. “On this occasion, we will present our Spring/Summer 2026 collection to a local and international audience in Florence, created based on our research and field studies carried out during our travels across Italy.”
This departure from the traditional Fashion Week schedule reflects broader industry trends, as numerous luxury houses rethink their presentation formats amid changing market conditions. While brands such as Fendi, Gucci and Valentino have moved to more cost-effective co-ed shows, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is charting its own course.
The brand will continue to create biannual collections, but notes that “the presentation of our work will not always be defined by seasons.” Instead, they aim to connect with local communities and creative scenes around the world through these roving presentations.
Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “The presence of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE at the upcoming Pitti Uomo in June fills us with pride and excitement,” he said. “This is our way of recognizing and celebrating the quality, creativity, and originality of the brand, its success on a global scale – and, at the same time, highlighting the brand’s current creative direction, which has successfully reinterpreted the quiet, elegant magic of its founder: one of the designers, one of the artists, who marked the history of fashion in the twentieth century. I don’t dare to give comments as I was a fashion critic, but I can’t help but be struck by the blend of elegance, functionality, innovative use of color and materials, artistic flair and conceptual lightness that define HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s work. It’s a vision that both honors and revitalizes such a powerful and distinctive legacy. For this show, Florence is, as always, ready to offer an evocative and unforgettable setting.”

Launched in 2013, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is the Japanese fashion house’s menswear line founded by Issey Miyake, known for his innovative pleated designs and architectural approach to menswear, creating garments that are wrinkle-resistant, quick-drying, lightweight and easy to wear.
