Luxury powerhouse Gucci has announced that it will reunite its co-ed format. Creative director Sabato de Sarno will present the brand’s men’s and women’s collections together in a single show in February and September, respectively, as part of the Milan Fashion Week calendar.
In a statement, Gucci said the co-ed format will allow de Sarno to present his “elegant, thoughtful and cohesive storyline” for the brand. By presenting both men’s and women’s collections together, Gucci hopes to foster a dialogue between complementary designs, creating an ongoing conversation between these two worlds. Each collection will reflect and respond to the other, maintaining its individuality while contributing to a multifaceted narrative in which femininity and masculinity coexist, enrich and elevate each other.
The house has experimented with different formats in recent years, initially opting for the co-ed format in 2017 under former Creative director Alessandro Michele. However, the brand has since returned to separate showcases, decoupling the men’s and women’s collections, starting with the men’s show in January 2023.
