Sabato de Sarno’s second collection for Gucci at Milan Fashion Week solidified his vision for the Italian fashion house. Building upon his debut, the Fall/Winter 2024 collection showcased his signature tailoring, bold colors, and a touch of subversive flair.
Exquisitely executed coats and outerwear were a highlight, featuring luxurious fabrics and innovative designs like a navy double-breasted coat with cascading sequins and a sunshine yellow peacoat. de Sarno further established his mastery of color, prominently featuring the brand’s signature “Ancora red” alongside vibrant acid green and baby blue.
Slip dresses were a recurring theme, with Gucci’s elevated versions featuring intricate details like intarsia velvet flowers and sheer GG high-waist panties. For a more covered-up look, de Sarno offered sculpted wool bustier dresses, perfect for layering with a jacket.
While de Sarno initially claimed a preference for simpler clothes, he embraced a touch of embellishment for Fall/Winter 2024. Sequins adorned twin sets (shorts and a cardigan), and geometric jacquards featuring hidden heron motifs offered a touch of intrigue.
