Gucci has chosen the historic Palazzo Settimanni in Florence as the venue for its upcoming Gucci Cruise 2026 (Resort 2026) show, which will take place next week on May 15th. The Palazzo, which houses the Gucci Archive, represents a significant return to the brand’s origins in the heart of Tuscany.
Located in Florence’s Oltrarno district, Palazzo Settimanni has played a pivotal role in Gucci‘s history since its acquisition in 1953. Over the decades, the space has served various functions for the luxury house – from workshops to showrooms – before becoming the meticulously restored home of the Gucci Archive.
“Returning to Florence – and specifically to Palazzo Settimanni – is both a tribute and a declaration of intent,” explained Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino. “The Archive is not merely a repository of our past; it is a living space where Gucci’s identity codes are preserved and reinterpreted through an ongoing dialogue.”
This homecoming is particularly significant as Florence witnessed the birth of the fashion house when Guccio Gucci founded his leather goods company here in 1921. Despite its global expansion, Gucci maintains strong ties to the city through numerous local institutions, including Palazzo Gucci, Gucci Osteria, Gucci Giardino and its production facilities in Casellina.
The Mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, expressed her civic pride in the upcoming presentation: “We are proud to host Gucci’s Cruise collection show in Florence – an extraordinary event in the very city where the brand was born, and in the place that best tells its story.”

Councillors Jacopo Vicini and Giovanni Bettarini highlighted the importance of hosting such an event: “Gucci’s Cruise show embodies all of this: it reflects Florence’s instinctive drive to create and radiate beauty. It celebrates Florentine pride through its highest expressions, opening the city to the world.”
Beyond the fashion presentation itself, Gucci has announced plans to support the 2026 edition of the Estate Fiorentina cultural program and contribute to the revitalization of Florence’s Parco delle Cascine, reinforcing Gucci‘s ongoing investment in cultural preservation and local communities.
